Therapists Starting Up in Business

Wednesday, January 27th, 2010

In 2007 I made the brave decision to walk away from the safety net of corporate life and a regular salary. I had been quietly training behind the scenes to become a Clinical Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist, something completely different to the 25 years of marketing that had been my previous career. In the evenings and weekends my business had started to slowly grow, as the business grew so did the client referrals. As I write this, the client referrals account for well over 70% of my client base and whereas I initially worked from home, now I work from three separate clinics.

When therapists start their new career, their backgrounds are diverse, but rarely have they come from a self-employed status. So not only do they have the pressure of finishing their training schedule and final exams, but then there is the daunting prospect of setting up their company. My advice is simple, write down a plan of action and, as much as possible, stick to it. Then use the many very helpful websites out there which will guide you and give you the information you require. It is all there, it’s just a matter of knowing where to find it.

Tampering With Business Records

Tuesday, January 19th, 2010

It is hard enough for the federal government to go after people and companies do not hide their money trails through overseas bank accounts and a large property, which may later be converted into liquid cash. The Federal Government must also follow other fraudulent activities, such as the business of record tampering. Tampering is falsifying business records, or to prevent the real business of a note. All companies must provide records of expenditures and resources. Every year, countless actions involving the expenditure and assets, so a lot of number crunching the federal government. CEO’s or companies who try to falsify written or prevent actual entries are usually trying to make tax evasion. These individuals may attempt to prove that his profits have decreased significantly in one year by changing the balance of the economy or any other plan after the event. Such a significant drop in revenue to justify the inspection and seizure of documents the IRS.

Amendment of Records :-The Federal Government requires a genuine and substantial information about the taxpayer, in order to decide who to add or deduct tax. Since the income tax reports must be completely accurate, the federal government has a very specific definition of the”Changing business records.”Moving to the business in relation to modification, deletion, removal, lack of Obliteration or destruction of real note. In principle, if any numbers or markings have been treated after actual action is taken, the CEO or an accountant may be responsible for the inspection.

Failure to do so and cause failure :-It’s one thing to the owner or bookkeeper to leave his mark on the business report, but it’s another if he intentionally conceals the crime. If the document has been destroyed, there is a high possibility that it no longer has a physical or digital form. In cases like this, witnesses and employees may provide information about the federal authorities. In addition, if the bank account numbers or other activities do not correlate with annual reports, federal authorities may be able to identify the fraudulent amount.

Tuottamukseen:- Many office workers or accountants may fear losing their jobs, and may decide to follow the employer’s orders for falsifying information. Of course, these people can be themselves without the benefit of the owner’s consent. Evidence that will be either the employer or the employee is a mistake.

Setting Your Small Business Budget

Tuesday, January 12th, 2010

Most people have a sense of dread when they hear the word “budget” and imagine something restricting and impossible. As a small Finance_Ch4_Pt1business owner, it’s important that you understand how to set a budget and stick to a budget. Having a budget for your small business is essential. Without a budget, your expenses will outpace your income and you’ll lose all your profits. It doesn’t a take a rocket scientist to figure out that this is no way to run a business! If you want to maintain your profits, you’ve got to:

1) Increase your income

OR

2) Decrease your expenses

Although it would be nice to instantly increase your income (and if you find the secret to that, please let me know!), most small biz owners need to decrease their expenses. Lowering the costs of doing business is the easiest way for you to get more profits. There are a lot of ways that you can cut down on your business expenses. Check out these ideas and save some money (and automatically increase your profits)! One of the biggest areas that business owners go over budget is with software. New software makes us feel professional…and it’s just plain fun! Even if you don’t exactly need it, software can make its way on to your computer. Before you download that next program ask yourself how it’s going to help your business. Is there a way you can do the same task without the piece of software? Will it really help your business or will it just be a waste of space on your hard drive? If you feel it will really help your business then earn it! Earmark a certain amount of money from your profits to spend on your software and then buy it once you’ve gotten the money. That way you won’t be cutting into your profits significantly or spending before thinking about it.

If there’s a software program that you really do need, try to find the smallest version you can get your hands on. Many pieces of software have levels of use. For example, there is database software that can handle hundreds of users and there is a version that is for personal use only. Even if your vision for your business is huge and you imagine that you’ll have dozens of employees someday, you don’t need the full fledged version right now. You won’t be saving money by purchasing it now. You’ll be wasting it. Tell yourself you can always upgrade when the time comes. You don’t need to spend the money right now…you have more important things to spend it on! Be strong and put yourself on a software ban. You can be creative and find other ways to get your tasks done without breaking your budget.

Business Phone – Lower Business Phone Expenses

Tuesday, January 12th, 2010

Whether you are building a new call center or simply creating multiple office inbound/outbound lines, you will need to do more executone-phone-systemsthan just plan for the network and hardware, you will need to plan for the cost of provisioning. Many factors can come into play when seeking business phone service providers. Here we will discuss some important points in finding the right provider for your company.

POTs Local Calling:- There are various carriers along with plans and it is important to recognize your current use, projected use, and projected growth to decide which option may be suitable for your needs. If you are a smaller borderline micro business with fewer than 10 employees you may not need to look further than your local carrier to install lines. Costs can be somewhat high so you will want to make sure you aren’t expecting any significant growth during the period of your contract.

T1 Local Calling:- If you are planning to include many business features (auto attendant, dial prompt, etc.) and have a larger employee base of at least 20 employees accessing phone lines then a T1 local loop may make sense especially since T1 pricing has seen significant drops in leasing prices in recent years.

VoIP Local Calling:- Many savvy smaller businesses are now using their broadband connections to utilize VoIP technology with hosted PBX solutions where the end user requires little or no hardware and pay very little for local access on a monthly basis. Depending on call traffic volumes and bandwidth costs to handle call volumes, this can be a cost effective solution and great substitute for a T1 local solution as well as is easily scalable to business growth, but remember that your bandwidth may not be which can be an added cost.

Switched Long Distance:- If you have current lines installed via local carrier for your small business phone, switched long distance services can be a good economical way to save. Beware though of switching fees and Intralata rates which often vary from the stated Interlata rates advertised. If you project your long distance call volume increasing you may need to find another solution to save on the costs.

Dedicated Long Distance:- Dedicated long distance phone services are a T1 voice product and have it’s pros and cons. While starting costs can be higher than switched, the savings can easily outweigh the initial price for higher long distance call volumes depending on carrier, contract, and other variables.

VoIP Long Distance:- VoIP phone services typically have lower international rates than other long distance services. For a flat fee many providers offer unlimited or packaged amount of domestic minutes and can save a business however even unlimited calling plans can have it’s restrictions and eventually you can end up paying per minute for overage usage.

Making the Decision Easy:- As you can see, the decision of setting up the right business phone services can differ as well as the carriers with their various plans, set up fees, and other expenses unforeseen at times. By using a good telecommunications broker the decision process can be as simple as letting them know what you use your phones for, what growth is predicted, and how many monthly minutes you plan to use. Telecommunications brokers usually do not charge any fees and work off of commission from carriers and providers but while still saving your business more than if you contacted the carrier yourself. It is their job to locate services suitable for your needs and to keep you within or below your budget.
